A modular platform is a universal foundation (structure or system) that can be freely modified using smaller components. For example, if we apply the term “modular platform” to the automotive industry, it refers to the same shared vehicle platform that defines specific mounting points for the engine, electronics and suspension. The same platform on the same production line can be used for many different car models, from small and compact vehicles to larger SUVs. This approach streamlines production and reduces costs.
